2022/2023 Before & After School Program

Colored Pencils in Cup
Our Before & After school program operates each day that school is in session.  We offer a healthy snack and homework help.  After homework is done, we offer age-appropriate free-play and/or organized activities.

Eligibility:  This program is for public school pre-K through grade 5. PreK students must attend the RSU 21 public PreK program at KES and be Arundel residents.  Students in grades K-5 must be Mildred L Day School students in order to be eligible for participation in this program  If our program should reach its maximum capacity, children who are Arundel residents will be prioritized over non-residents who may attend MLD.  Our department is supported by tax dollars from Arundel residents, and we feel this is the only way to make it fair.

General Information
  • Please let us know if your child is participating in other activities at MLD that overlap with our After School Program hours, such as flag football, basketball, or little league, and we'll make sure they get there on time.
  • Registrations are accepted on a monthly basis.
  • Please check registration deadline for each month.
  • If school is closed (snow day, Covid-19, etc), you will be credited for that day.
  • If your child is signed up and unable to attend for any reason including being out sick or having to quarantine due to Covid-19 exposure, we will not be able to offer credits/refunds.

Before School
  • In the morning hours Before School, we will remain in the gym to play games and do arts & crafts, etc.
  • Breakfast is available at 7:45am through the school, or children are welcome to bring their own breakfast foods to eat.
  • No foods containing peanuts please.
  • The Before School Program runs on regular school days from 6:45-8:00am at MLD.
  • Registrations are accepted on a monthly basis.
  • Please check registration deadline for each month.

After School
  • In the hours After School, children will be provided with a snack, homework help and opportunities for free play and organized activities.
  • The After School Program runs on regular school days from 2:30-5:30pm at MLD.
  • Registrations are accepted on a monthly basis.
  • Please check registration deadline for each month.
  • Usually, the first Wednesday of the month is a half-day of school. You must register for our half-day activities separately, and they fill fast. Don't wait if you need to enroll your child in the half-day activity each month.
