THE REGISTRATION PERIOD FOR SEPTEMBER BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL WILL OPEN ON AUGUST 1, 2025.  After the first month, the registration period will be open from the 15th to the 25th of each month, for the upcoming month.  2025-2026 Before & After School program fees are $7 per day for mornings and $15 per day for afternoons, per child.  Our Before & After School Program operates each day that school is in session.  We offer a healthy snack and homework time.  We offer age-appropriate free-play and/or organized activities.  The Before & After School program does not operate when the school is closed for holidays, weather-related events (example:  snow days) or other unexpected circumstances.  Because our program takes place in the school, we do not operate when the building is shut down.  There are no charges for days that we are not in session.  Eligibility:  This program is for public school students in pre-K through grade 5. PreK students must attend the RSU 21 public PreK program at KES and must be Arundel residents.  Students in grades K-5 must be Mildred L Day School students in order to be eligible for participation in this program  If our program should reach its maximum capacity, children who are Arundel residents will be prioritized over non-residents who may attend MLD.  Our department is supported by tax dollars from Arundel residents, and we feel this is the only way to make it fair.This recreation-based program is intended for school-age children who are fully potty-trained, no longer napping during the day, who are able to take responsibility for their actions, can communicate their needs to staff, can understand and follow directions and adhere to safety and group rules within a 12:1 child to staff ratio, and who enjoy being physically/socially active within the presence of their elementary school-age peers.  If you have questions about whether this program would be a good fit for your child, please reply by email or call the office and ask for Jenn at (207) 286-9241.     Please note that we are unable to make changes to your child's registration after the registration deadline has passed due to the confusion it creates, particularly during the after-school dismissal process. Join us this spring for some flag football on Gilliam Field!! Led by Tyler Bernaiche & volunteer coaches this program teaches fundamentals of flag football in fun / safe environment. This program will focus on introducing your child to flag football. Developing essential skills such as passing, catching, running, flag pulling, and teamwork while learning the rules of the game. Weekly drills focusing on game-development, skill-building, fun interactive flag football games - all while staying engaged and having fun! Each week players will participate in drills focused on the information above along with playing pick-up style games. Dates: Grades 1-3 = Tuesdays, (4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 5/26) Grades 4-5 = Wednesdays, (4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27)Time: 4:00-5:15 PMWhere: Gilliam Field, Mildred L. We will explore secondhand shopping in a low-pressure, fun way. Sharing tips, laughs, and creative finds along the way. Whether you are hunting for a statement piece, a total wild card, or just enjoying the thrill of the search, this program celebrates individuality, sustainability, and the joy of the unexpected. Come thrift, explore, and see what treasures you uncover!This program will take place on weekdays approximately every other week this spring. Lunch at your own expense. Join our adult Versatile Impact Fitness class at 9:30am in the Arundel Municipal building, meeting room. Get moving every Thursday morning with aerobics, weights, balancing and stretching! This class is suitable for everyone seeking low to moderate impact fitness, and participants can be seated or standing. All exercises are presented so they can be modified to be more or less intense. Have more energy, increased strength, and improved balance; all while making new friends!For Arundel residents: Suggested donation $5 per class. We want you to join us, even if you are unable to donate. Please register online ($0), and feel free to donate in person during the fitness class if you would like to.Non-residents are welcome.ALL, are welcome to come by for ONE FREE drop in, as space allows.   Doors will open at 9:15am. Join our adult Versatile Impact Fitness class at 9:30am in the Arundel Municipal building, meeting room. Get moving every Thursday morning with aerobics, weights, balancing and stretching! This class is suitable for everyone seeking low to moderate impact fitness, and participants can be seated or standing. All exercises are presented so they can be modified to be more or less intense. Have more energy, increased strength, and improved balance; all while making new friends!For Arundel residents: Suggested donation $5 per class. We want you to join us, even if you are unable to donate. Please register online ($0), and feel free to donate in person during the fitness class if you would like to.Non-residents are welcome.ALL, are welcome to come by for ONE FREE drop in, as space allows.   Doors will open at 9:15am. 4:00 PM - 5:15 PM    Spring A"Run"del Running Club - Kindergarten - 5th
A"Run"del Running Club Returns This Spring! Lead by experienced running coach Melissa Maidana with help from Tyler Bernaiche & other volunteer coaches!This program will focus on introducing your child to running. Developing essential running skills such as warm-up, cool-down, various distance running, various short distance running, and sprinting. Weekly drills focusing on running development, correct technique, proper stretching, and developing healthy habits to give your body fuel for a run.  Participants will run on Gilliam Field, which is located at Mildred L. Day School. With the permission of parents and help from our volunteer coaches we may take participants to run on the ACT trails and Eastern Trail from the Arundel Town Hall along with looking at other smooth running surfaces locally to take participants for a run. There may be a option of using the track at Kennebunk High School when high school & middle school track & field teams have an away meet. If this option becomes available, Tyler Bernaiche will update parents a week prior. Coach Missy and I are also looking into the possibility of finding a local race or running event for the children to participate in. It would be something to look forward to and set a goal for while practicing. Arundel Parks & Rec is offering Adult Pickup Basketball at MLD School gymnasium. All participants must sign a waiver and pay a $5 drop-in-fee once entering the gym, or register online in advance. You must be 18 years or older to participate.Please arrive between 7:30-7:45PM. After 7:45PM doors will be shut. Use the gym entrance near the bus loop. Thursday evenings 7:30PM to 10:00PM starting Thursday, May 7th and last session will be Thursday, July 30th. Join us this spring for some flag football on Gilliam Field!! Led by Tyler Bernaiche & volunteer coaches this program teaches fundamentals of flag football in fun / safe environment. This program will focus on introducing your child to flag football. Developing essential skills such as passing, catching, running, flag pulling, and teamwork while learning the rules of the game. Weekly drills focusing on game-development, skill-building, fun interactive flag football games - all while staying engaged and having fun! Join our adult Versatile Impact Fitness class at 9:30am in the Arundel Municipal building, meeting room. Get moving every Thursday morning with aerobics, weights, balancing and stretching! This class is suitable for everyone seeking low to moderate impact fitness, and participants can be seated or standing. All exercises are presented so they can be modified to be more or less intense. Have more energy, increased strength, and improved balance; all while making new friends!For Arundel residents: Suggested donation $5 per class. We want you to join us, even if you are unable to donate. Please register online ($0), and feel free to donate in person during the fitness class if you would like to.Non-residents are welcome.ALL, are welcome to come by for ONE FREE drop in, as space allows.   Doors will open at 9:15am. 4:00 PM - 5:15 PM    Spring A"Run"del Running Club - Kindergarten - 5th
A"Run"del Running Club Returns This Spring! Lead by experienced running coach Melissa Maidana with help from Tyler Bernaiche & other volunteer coaches!This program will focus on introducing your child to running. Developing essential running skills such as warm-up, cool-down, various distance running, various short distance running, and sprinting. Weekly drills focusing on running development, correct technique, proper stretching, and developing healthy habits to give your body fuel for a run.  Participants will run on Gilliam Field, which is located at Mildred L. Day School. With the permission of parents and help from our volunteer coaches we may take participants to run on the ACT trails and Eastern Trail from the Arundel Town Hall along with looking at other smooth running surfaces locally to take participants for a run. There may be a option of using the track at Kennebunk High School when high school & middle school track & field teams have an away meet. If this option becomes available, Tyler Bernaiche will update parents a week prior. Coach Missy and I are also looking into the possibility of finding a local race or running event for the children to participate in. It would be something to look forward to and set a goal for while practicing. Arundel Parks & Rec is offering Adult Pickup Basketball at MLD School gymnasium. All participants must sign a waiver and pay a $5 drop-in-fee once entering the gym, or register online in advance. You must be 18 years or older to participate.Please arrive between 7:30-7:45PM. After 7:45PM doors will be shut. Use the gym entrance near the bus loop. Thursday evenings 7:30PM to 10:00PM starting Thursday, May 7th and last session will be Thursday, July 30th. 4:00 PM - 5:15 PM    Spring Flag Football! - Grades 4&5
Join us this spring for some flag football on Gilliam Field!! Led by Tyler Bernaiche & volunteer coaches this program teaches fundamentals of flag football in fun / safe environment. This program will focus on introducing your child to flag football. Developing essential skills such as passing, catching, running, flag pulling, and teamwork while learning the rules of the game. Weekly drills focusing on game-development, skill-building, fun interactive flag football games - all while staying engaged and having fun! Each week players will participate in drills focused on the information above along with playing pick-up style games. Dates: Grades 1-3 = Tuesdays, (4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 5/26) Grades 4-5 = Wednesdays, (4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27)Time: 4:00-5:15 PMWhere: Gilliam Field, Mildred L. 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM    Versatile Impact Fitness for Adults - May Fitness Class for Adults
Join our adult Versatile Impact Fitness class at 9:30am in the Arundel Municipal building, meeting room. Get moving every Thursday morning with aerobics, weights, balancing and stretching! This class is suitable for everyone seeking low to moderate impact fitness, and participants can be seated or standing. All exercises are presented so they can be modified to be more or less intense. Have more energy, increased strength, and improved balance; all while making new friends!For Arundel residents: Suggested donation $5 per class. We want you to join us, even if you are unable to donate. Please register online ($0), and feel free to donate in person during the fitness class if you would like to.Non-residents are welcome.ALL, are welcome to come by for ONE FREE drop in, as space allows.   Doors will open at 9:15am. Please arrive between 9:15-9:25am. All participants must be checked in before doors lock at 9:30am for the start of class. 4:00 PM - 5:15 PM    Spring A"Run"del Running Club - Kindergarten - 5th
A"Run"del Running Club Returns This Spring! Lead by experienced running coach Melissa Maidana with help from Tyler Bernaiche & other volunteer coaches!This program will focus on introducing your child to running. Developing essential running skills such as warm-up, cool-down, various distance running, various short distance running, and sprinting. Weekly drills focusing on running development, correct technique, proper stretching, and developing healthy habits to give your body fuel for a run.  Participants will run on Gilliam Field, which is located at Mildred L. Day School. With the permission of parents and help from our volunteer coaches we may take participants to run on the ACT trails and Eastern Trail from the Arundel Town Hall along with looking at other smooth running surfaces locally to take participants for a run. There may be a option of using the track at Kennebunk High School when high school & middle school track & field teams have an away meet. If this option becomes available, Tyler Bernaiche will update parents a week prior. Coach Missy and I are also looking into the possibility of finding a local race or running event for the children to participate in. It would be something to look forward to and set a goal for while practicing. Arundel Parks & Rec is offering Adult Pickup Basketball at MLD School gymnasium. All participants must sign a waiver and pay a $5 drop-in-fee once entering the gym, or register online in advance. You must be 18 years or older to participate.Please arrive between 7:30-7:45PM. After 7:45PM doors will be shut. Use the gym entrance near the bus loop. Thursday evenings 7:30PM to 10:00PM starting Thursday, May 7th and last session will be Thursday, July 30th.
