4:00 PM - 5:00 PM    2024 Arundel Spring Youth Flag Football - Grades 1 & 2 COED
Registration Deadline: Monday, April 29th at 11:59PM. **Program comes with Flag Football T-shirt!**Grades 1/2: This program will focus on introducing your child to flag football. Learning basic skills such as how to throw a football, catch, and how to play as a team. The difference between offense and defense. Along with some fun activities and games based around flag football. With the possibility of ending each session with a actual flag football game. The ultimate goal of this program is your child will receive knowledge of basic skills needed to play flag football in the future. Grades 1 & 2 are paired together with the hopes of a smooth transition over to our fall flag football program when grades 2 & 3 play games against each other or other communities within our area. Grades 3,4,5: For the first couple of weeks of the program the focus will be on skill work such as throwing, catching, and correct positioning on the field. Your child will learn how to get open, run certain routes, and how to position yourself on defense. Typically the last 30-45 minutes of each session, children will break into two groups to scrimmage each other. **This Program is different then the Youth Flag Football program in the fall. As that program actually goes and plays against flag football teams from surrounding areas. This programs goal is to get kids active and outside from long winter months. More of back yard flag football and having fun approach.**ARUNDEL PARKS & REC AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM:  For students who attend MLD, if transportation is a problem for you, our After School program is available to help!  Simply sign your child up for the After School program for the days of Flag Football and we'll get your children to Flag Football and collect them afterward.  **In case of rain or wet field conditions Arundel Parks & Rec will email you no later than 2:00pm for any cancellations.**
