Our anticipated 2026 Summer Rec dates are 6/22/2026 through 8/14/2026, though this may change depending on snow days in the current school year.
Summer Rec will be CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAY on Friday, 7/3.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR SUMMER REC DATES MAY CHANGE DEPENDING ON WHEN THE FINAL DAY OF THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR IS, AND WHEN THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN. Refunds and credits cannot be offered if dates change due to the RSU 21 school schedule, as that is not in our control. Please keep this in mind for planning purposes. Typically, the next year's academic calendar is adopted by the school board in April, and any snow days we may have will be over by then as well.
Our staff is busy planning for another fun Summer Rec season! Please read the 2026 Pre-season Parent Letter (link below) BEFORE you register, so that you have a good understanding about what our program looks like and if it will be a good fit for your child. Please note that the program looks different for children entering kindergarten in 2026 (see section below for this age group).
For children entering Grades 1-8 in the fall of 2026:
We are looking forward to having your child with us for lots of fun with theme weeks, dress-up days, activities, games, and 2-3 weekly field trips to beaches, lakes, and amusement parks! Our Summer Rec program is ideal for children who enjoy being highly physically active, on-the-go, and social all day. In order to participate, children must be fully potty-trained, no longer napping, and must be able to be held accountable and meet behavior requirements. A personality that enjoys group activities, being physically active, and playing with friends for extended periods of time would do best in our Summer Rec environment. Children must be able to be responsible for themselves physically and must be able to communicate needs to a staff made up of some teens/young adults. If you have questions about the program, the environment, or if you are wondering if it would be appropriate for your child (at any age), feel free to call the office and speak with Jenn (207) 286-9241.
For children entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2026 (14 spots total): We offer something a little bit different for this age group in order to better meet the developmental needs of our littles. The program will run Monday-Thursday (Closed Fridays) with the hope that we'll have consistent staff members working with this group every day throughout the 8 week session. This group will have the mini-bus to use for age-appropriate field trips offered 1-2 times per week, depending on how the group does with trips. This age group will be capped at 14 spots. Oftentimes the larger amusement parks offer very little for young children who may not meet height requirements for rides, and the older kids can withstand a much longer day playing in the sun that the little ones can. We will gear field trips toward places that these youngsters will get more out of...we are thinking places like the Children's Museum, and maybe shorter stints at amusement parks that have more to offer for littles.
